Members Support

EFFECTIVE FROM TODAY.

Period of grace until January 31st.

The Commission for Children & Young People have made a number of changes to their procedures. (details in attachment "New child protection'

The PED has been replaced with a new form called the ' Volunteer/Student declaration', within a day or so available as form M5 on our web site. Those who have already signed a Scout PED  don't  have to resign.  (See attachment Scouts 'Volunteer/ Student Declaration'.) Remember its their form and we cannot change it except form. adding our name at the top.'
AND
Youth under 18 years of age are no longer required to sign a PED or a Volunteer/student declaration.

It should be noted that the form states

Volunteers who mentor disadvantaged children or who provide intimate personal care to disabled children should use
the’ Applicant Declaration and Consent’ rather than the ‘Volunteer/Student declaration..
The high risk roles demand a Federal police check and are:
  • Those volunteers who mentor disadvantaged children in family-like relationships.  or
  • Those volunteers who provide intimate personal care for disabled children such as bathing or toileting.

They have an immediate effect on Scouts.

The information is going out to Regions today and they will have  access to the new M5 within the next day or so.
and hopefully, if in time, included in the latest E News.

An updated LSG 26 is currently being checked  against the Commissions requirements.
