'PIRATES ROCK THE GLEN' AGOONORETTE

1st to 4th October 2010

'PIRATES ROCK THE GLEN' AGOONORETTE is a camp open to ALL Scouts and Guides, with and without special needs.
Venturers, Rovers, Rangers, Fellowship members and Leaders are also invited and encouraged to attend.
Indoor cabin accommodation (bed or mattress on the floor) and tent camping options are available.
If tent camping, participants are required to arrange their own tentage, though this can be organised if requested.
All meals from Friday lunch to Monday lunch are included and catered.


DATES:

FRIDAY 1 OCTOBER 2010 - From 9am - arrive and set up by 12pm. The Camp is held over 4 days and 3 nights concluding after lunch on MONDAY 4 OCTOBER - participants to depart by 3pm (helpers to depart by 4pm at the very latest).
Overnight accommodation prior to the camp on Thursday 30 September or after the camp on Monday 4 October can be arranged at 1st Cooks Hill City Scout Hall (in Newcastle) if requested. Note that Daylight Saving begins on Sunday 3 October.


LOCATION:

GLENROCK SCOUT CENTRE, off Burwood Road, Kahibah (near Newcastle). [A map and details are available on request].
This is an historic, well-maintained scout campsite surrounded by natural beauty including plenty of bush, a lagoon and surf beach.
Water activities (if any) will be fully supervised. Note that mobile phone reception at Glenrock can be very poor.


ACTIVITIES:

There will be a wide range of fun activities including (but not limited to):
A full on-site activities day on Saturday 2 October with the creation and/or wearing of theme-based costumes.
Theme-based games, activities, crafts, the ever popular Music Man, treasure hunt, (wet or dry) raft racing. This will also be a Visitor's Day for day participants and guests, including Joeys and Cubs. [$5 for day visitors includes badge and activities - BYO lunch].
A full off-site activities day on Sunday 3 October to local attractions and activities. Beach walk / beach games on Monday 4 October.
'Pirate Rock' Night; Campfire Night; Movie Night &/or Games Night; Scouts' Own. Also a "Chatterbox" leader retreat will be operating.
CAMP FEE: $120 for Youth Members who are participants; $100 for Leaders and other helpers; Rates for part-timers are negotiable.
